Take Stock in Children is a qualified non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships, mentors, and hope to low-income, at-risk children in Florida.
Its a public-private partnership,award-winning and nationally recognized organization that has positively affected the lives of more than 17,600 children.
Since its inception in 1995, Take Stock in Children has:
* Given more than 17,600 underserved children the opportunity to succeed in life
* Awarded over $108.5 million in college scholarships
* Logged over 1.1 million volunteer hours provided by more than 11,000 volunteers
* Received national recognition by being awarded the Excellence in Mentoring Award for Program Leadership from MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership.
* More than 9,000 students have graduated high school with a Take Stock in Children scholarship since the first graduating class of 1999.
* Been sited in U.S. Congressional Report for its comprehensive model and community collaboration
* Been identified by the National Advisory Committee of Student Financial Assistance as a program that works with a unique structure.
Hype has partnered with Take Stock in Children for the last 3 years, providing mentors and volunteers to students in Hillsborough County.
Mentoring is the key to success for a student. By committing one (1) hour a week throughout the duration of their middle and high school careers, we provide motivation,guidance, friendship and support to help ensure the child’s success in school and life.
